Prices & Fees

What appointments include, how long they take, and how to get a confirmed quote

Book Your Consultation

Private healthcare pricing is often frustratingly opaque, which makes it hard to work out whether treatment is affordable before committing to it. This page sets out exactly what each appointment type involves and what affects the total cost of a course of treatment.

For current fees, please contact the clinic — you will be given a clear figure before you book, along with a realistic estimate of how many sessions your particular problem is likely to need.

Appointment types

Fees differ by appointment length and by whether specialist equipment is used. Here is what each one covers.

Initial assessment — 60 minutes

A full history, movement and posture assessment, physical and (with your consent) internal pelvic floor assessment, an explanation of the findings, and a written individualised programme that you begin in the session. See what to expect.

Follow-up appointment — 30 to 45 minutes

Reassessment of muscle function and symptoms, correction of technique, progression of your programme, and any hands-on treatment or biofeedback needed. Usually spaced two to four weeks apart.

Online consultation — 45 to 60 minutes

Secure video appointment covering history, symptom analysis, education, and a supervised exercise programme. No internal assessment is possible remotely. See online consultations.

Biofeedback session

Real-time visual feedback of pelvic floor activity, used when locating or activating the muscle is difficult. See biofeedback therapy.

PTNS — a course of treatments

Percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation is delivered as a course, conventionally twelve weekly sessions, then reviewed. Because it is a course rather than a single appointment, ask for the total cost up front. See PTNS treatment.

What determines your total cost

How many sessions you need

The main driver. Most pelvic floor programmes involve an initial assessment plus roughly four to eight follow-ups over three to six months — far fewer than many people expect, because the work happens at home between visits.

Whether equipment is used

Biofeedback and PTNS involve consumables and equipment time, so those sessions are priced differently from standard follow-ups.

Clinic or online

Video consultations are shorter on physical assessment and are priced accordingly, but they cannot include internal examination.

Complexity

Straightforward stress incontinence typically needs fewer sessions than persistent pelvic pain or post-surgical rehabilitation, which often require longer programmes.

You will be given a realistic estimate of the likely number of sessions at your first appointment — not an open-ended commitment. If your problem needs onward referral rather than physiotherapy, you will be told that at the assessment.

Private health insurance

Some private health insurance policies cover pelvic health physiotherapy. Cover varies significantly between insurers and between policies from the same insurer, and many require a GP or consultant referral before they will authorise treatment.

Before booking, contact your insurer and ask three specific questions: whether pelvic health physiotherapy is covered under your policy, whether a referral is required, and how many sessions are authorised. Then contact the clinic to confirm what is needed at our end.

If you are paying yourself, that is entirely usual and no referral is required.

TODO(clinic): list the specific insurers you are recognised by. Naming them is a strong conversion signal and captures searches such as "[insurer] pelvic physiotherapist London".

NHS or private?

Pelvic health physiotherapy is available on the NHS, and for many people it is the right route. It is free, and the quality of specialist NHS pelvic health services is generally high.

The trade-offs are waiting times, appointment length, and continuity. NHS pelvic health waits in many areas run to several months, appointments are shorter, and you may not see the same clinician each time. Private treatment buys speed, longer appointments, and continuity with one specialist throughout — not a fundamentally different treatment.

It is entirely reasonable to join an NHS waiting list and have a private assessment in the meantime so you can start rehabilitation immediately rather than losing months. If you would rather wait for NHS care, ask your GP for a referral to your local pelvic health physiotherapy service.

Cancellations

Appointments are one-to-one and an unfilled slot cannot usually be reallocated at short notice, so a cancellation policy applies. Please give as much notice as you can if you need to rearrange.

Full terms are set out in our terms and conditions.

TODO(clinic): state the notice period and any charge here explicitly — patients look for this before booking, and its absence is a common reason for hesitation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does pelvic floor physiotherapy cost in London?

Fees vary by clinic, appointment length and whether specialist equipment such as biofeedback or PTNS is used. Please contact Zyloh Physio directly for current fees at the Woodford Green clinic — you will be given a clear figure before booking, together with an estimate of how many sessions your problem is likely to need.

How many sessions will I need in total?

Most pelvic floor programmes involve an initial 60-minute assessment plus roughly four to eight follow-up appointments spread over three to six months. Straightforward stress incontinence often needs fewer; persistent pelvic pain and post-surgical rehabilitation often need more. You are given a realistic estimate at your first appointment.

Do you accept private health insurance?

Some policies cover pelvic health physiotherapy, but cover varies considerably and many insurers require a GP or consultant referral first. Contact your insurer to confirm whether pelvic health physiotherapy is covered, whether a referral is needed, and how many sessions are authorised, then contact the clinic to confirm the arrangements.

Do I need a GP referral?

Not to book privately — you can self-refer. A referral may be required by your insurer if you are claiming on a policy. GP and consultant referrals are welcome, and any letters or investigation results are useful to bring to the first appointment.

Is it cheaper to have online appointments?

Online consultations are generally priced differently from in-person appointments because they involve no physical or internal examination. They work well for education, programme progression and follow-up, but a first assessment in person gives a more accurate diagnosis where an internal examination would change the plan.
